Guy Vivien has spent a great part of his life photographing artists, thus coming
across a large number of renowned writers, dancers and musicians. More than
mere photographs, his pictures prove his ability to go beyond appearances and
create intimate portraits, whether tender, dark or magical, bringing out the very
best in each artist’s personality.
This accounts for his need to feel an atmosphere or a light instinctively, to make
the environment alive, to watch the model interact with others. His work with
composers is a perfect illustration of his vision.
Guy Vivien has collaborated with all the main musical institutions in Europe.
This great traveller has brought back pictures from numerous countries, including
Ethiopia and Eastern Europe.
His work was exhibited in France and in the United States. He is also the author of
various books.
