Ever since its foundation, Orquestra Vigo 430 has been recognised by media and public alike
for its rigour and daring in performance, thanks to its freshness and vitality on the concert
platform and the extraordinary quality of its programmes – it has been able to count on the
artistic collaboration of Christophe Coin, Gordan Nikolić, Alexis Cárdenas, David Quiggle,
Margarita Escarpa, Nicolas Dautricourt and Javier Perianes, to name but a few.
Since 2012 it has organised two important annual concert series in the city ofVigo, theAutumn
and Spring Symphonic Programmes, which have achieved the support and patronage of the
citizens as a whole and recognition in the region.
Alongside its regular programme, since last year it has also included a youth orchestra, the
Orquestra XoveVigo 430 –OXV430, which performs a series of musical encounters throughout
the year. It is intended to give instrumental players from schools of music an additional
opportunity for training, and at the same time serves as a talent pool for future members of
the orchestra.
In addition, the orchestra has just presented its new chamber group specialising in Baroque
music, Orquestra Barroca Vigo 430 – OBV430, conducted by Alfonso Sebastián. This will
ensure that the orchestra does not lose sight of two of the main aims of the project: the quest
for excellence in its string section and the dissemination of early music.
