Description
For his third recording with La Dolce Volta, Wilhem Latchoumia has chosen to play the pieces in the sequence of the ballet to respect its narrative continuity. This had not been done before. Moreover, the passionate interpreter for rare repertoires and most varied contemporary aesthetics has integrated four pieces by the American composer Henry Dixon Cowell into Prokofiev’s ballet.
The scores, written between 1912 and 1930, use new methods of writing and playing for the time, such as playing on the instrument’s strings.
