WILHEM LATCHOUMIA 25 Could you explain to us the association of the worlds of Cowell and Prokofiev in your programme? It’s highly original, to say the least. Having tried it out in concert, I found that the combination of Cowell’s pieces with Prokofiev’s Cinderella works perfectly, giving a mirror effect, as it were. Both groups of pieces relate to a simple theme very dear to me, the fairytale. Here we have a sound world that ‘plays’, in every sense of the verb, with the imaginative universe of both children and adults. That’s why I have intermingled the works of the two composers. By responding to one another, each enriches the other. However, this approach necessarily involves choices.
