VANESSAWAGNER 15 Your repertory ranges from Rameau to Dusapin by way of Schubert and Scriabin. What place does this new recording devoted to Liszt and Pärt occupy in your eclectic discography? This disc is the result of my second collaboration with the La Dolce Volta label. Our first recording was already marked by duality. I recorded Mozart and Clementi alternately on period piano andmodern piano, something I enjoy doing in concert. I have always championed a broad and open repertory, which enables me to renew myself, tomove forward and tomature inmy career as amusician. My discography amounts to around fifteen recordings, which embrace differentmusical genres. For this one, I didn’twant to embark on a complete recording of the Harmonies poétiques et religieuses , as there are already somany, and so I suggested this coupling of Franz Liszt and Arvo Pärt, two composers distant in time and form, but who share an eminently spiritual background that brings them closer together.
