67 Cité musicale-Metz Home to all forms of music and dance in Metz, La Cité musicale-Metz was born out of the history of the city of Metz and of the Grand Est Region, both long dedicated to music. A pioneering project in France in this form, La Cité musicaleMetz unites Metz’s three performance venues (L'Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch, La Boîte à Musique - BAM, and Les Trinitaires) along with the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est in an ambitious project devoted to artistic creation and innovation, at the crossroads of all musical aesthetics and disciplines, for the benefit of the public and music-lovers alike. Cité musicale-Metz is a vital centre for artists, first and foremost for the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est and its musicians. It includes venues remarkable both for their acoustic qualities and for their history, it can host and present the greatest performers, composers, and writers of our time, cultivating the audience’s curiosity and enthusiasm. Cité musicale-Metz represents both an artistic and an economic undertaking, a city project that enables musical ventures to reach across the entire Grand Est Region, the Greater Region, throughout France, across Europe, and far beyond. It is also a social project, carrying the ambition of opening up a public cultural service, marked by excellence and rooted in musical diversity, to the widest possible audience. Cité musicale-Metz is developing a social and educational project that allows young people, families, all generations, including those furthest from the concert hall to discover the joys of music through artistic education, outreach, together with opportunities for convivial encounters and family events.
