WILHEM LATCHOUMIA : Mirages of childhood

During the Second World War, Prokofiev composed a new ballet, Cinderella, based on Charles Perrault’s fairytale. Shortly afterwards he made three piano suites consisting of arrangements of pieces from the ballet.

For the recording, Wilhem Latchoumia has chosen to play the pieces in the sequence of the ballet to respect its narrative continuity and has integrated four pieces by the American composer Henry Dixon Cowell into Prokofiev’s ballet. The four pieces separate the key episodes of the ballet, offering each listener’s imagination new sonic horizons…

The new album will be coming out on February 22nd, 2019.
