27 TALICH QUARTET You recorded this disc in a new venue and with a new sound engineer. How did you react to the experience? And do you have the impression that your recorded image has changed in any way? After making somany recordings, we thought themoment had come for a change. So we tried out a new hall and a new recording engineer with a very personal idea of the sound of the quartet. We greatly appreciated this new collaboration.Work on the recording took place in an atmosphere of mutual confidence, with thewatchword being“Let’s try it” rather than“It’s impossible!” We don’t think the sound image of our quartet has really changed as a result. This time we collaborated again with the same recording producer, who knows that we like to work tirelessly, especially as we all carry the music of Dvořák in the very depths of our being. But who knows what the next recording will bring?
