21 JEAN-MARC LUISADA Is that the only tribute you pay in this programme? Far from it. The most personal and profound tribute in this album is to my parents. They taught me to love films and music. At the cinema, we saw great Hollywood movies together, masterpieces of French cinema, of Italian neo-realism, and so much else. When I started at the Yehudi Menuhin School, I wasn’t happy. To relieve my loneliness, my mother wrote to me every day and her letters told me about the films she saw with my father. Films that I hadn’t seen yet, such as Rendez-vous à Bray , which I discovered in a ‘preview’ through my mother’s eyes before seeing it much later in the cinema. The words of her letters nourished my imagination.
